I am a late bloomer who was a heating and air conditioning contractor in Philadelphia PA for 21 years before contracting Lymes Disease and having to change careers at age 40. As an older person I graduated college and then Law School at Creighton University in Nebraska.
I worked for a small boutique law firm in Salt Lake City Utah for about a year, and then operated as a solo practitioner for 22 years in general practice. About 50% of my practice ended up being divorce, custody, and guardian ad litem work (my
favorite).
I also did a lot of real estate and land use work; criminal defense; some bankruptcy; and other local work for the community. I ran two free clinics in Utah: One at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Community Services for 21 years; and one at the Magna
Senior Center for about 10 years.
I started off working on an hourly basis; but changed to a Flat Fee Attorney/Client agreement after about 5 or 6 years. I moved to Spokane Valley with my wife of 43 years to be near our daughter and her family (5 grandchildren) last year, and became licensed in Washington earlier this year.
